Box 627
Manitou Springs, CO 80829
Dear Boyd,
This letter is in response to your request for a land use permit from Park County
to engage in mining on the B.L.M. parcel in the southwest quarter of section 33,
township 9 range 77..
This parcel is within the Conservation/Recreation zone district. In this zone
district mining is a permitted use as long as certain conditions are met. These
conditions are detailed in our Land Use Regulations in section 5-303, footnote 2.
I have attached this as well as our definition of mining for your records.
As mining is a permitted use in this parcel, no permits at the county level other
tlza?i those that :riiay be required from the-Environmental Health Department -
(conditions A, I, and J) or the Road and Bridge Department (condition C) need be
issued to engage in it. I recommend contacting these departments well before
you begin planning your proposed operation. Also, if you are going to put up a
sign, you should contact me for a sign permit.
Please let me know if you have any more questions regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
John Deagan
Park County Planner
Cc: Tom Eisenman, Development Services Coordinator
