Do not undertake deployment if weather conditions will preclude material seaming on same <br />day as deployment, unless approved by MANAGER, DESIGN ENGINEER, and <br />CERTIFYING ENGINEER.. <br />B. Seaming <br />1. Normal Weather Conditions <br />Normal seaming procedures may take place if the following weather conditions exist: <br />a. Ambient temperature between 35° F and 100° F. <br />b. Dry conditions, i.e., no precipitation or other excessive moisture, such as fog or <br />dew. <br />C. No excessive winds. <br />2. Adverse Weather Conditions <br />a. Do not seam if ambient temperature is below 14° F or above 100° F. <br />b. Do not seam during precipitation, in the presence of excessive moisture (e.g. fog, <br />dew), in an area of ponded water, in the presence of excessive winds. <br />C. If the ambient air temperature is between 35° F and 14° F for the entire shift, Cold <br />Weather Seaming provisions will govern. <br />1. The INSTALLER will be required to perform a minimum of four trial <br />seams during the planned work shift, at approximately the same time <br />interval throughout the scheduled workday. <br />2. If the Soil Liner Fill is considered frozen as outlined in Item 3.06 of <br />Section 2200, the INSTALLER must place seaming boards or slip sheets <br />when seaming. Seaming boards or slip-sheets shall be removed by <br />INSTALLER. <br />PART 2: PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. The geomembrane shall be a polyethylene. The geomembrane shall be manufactured of new, first- <br />quality resin produced in the United States or Canada and shall be manufactured specifically for this <br />type of application. <br />B. The geomembrane sheet shall be comprised of a minimum ninety-six (96) percent pure polyethylene. <br />The remaining portion shall be made up of materials necessary for the performance of the liner (such <br />as carbon black, anti-oxidants, etc.) The geomembrane rolls shall meet the following <br />SPECIFICATIONS: <br />1. The surface of the geomembrane shall not have striations, roughness (except texture as <br />specified), pinholes, or bubbles and shall be free of holes, blisters, undispersed raw <br />materials, or any contamination by foreign matter.
