At geogrid MANUFACTURER'S discretion and expense, additional testing of individual <br />rolls may be performed to more closely identify noncomplying rolls and to qualify individual <br />rolls. <br />3. Geogrid manufacturer shall perform quality control tests at a frequency of at least every <br />50,000 ft2 of geogrid produced. <br />PART 3: EXECUTION <br />3.01 EXAMINATIONS <br />A. Conformance Testing <br />1. Geogrid manufacturer shall supply samples of geogrid to CQA ENGINEER for <br />conformance testing. Unless otherwise specified, samples shall be taken at a rate of one per <br />lot, not to exceed one conformance test per 100,000 square feet of geogrid. <br />2. For geogrid, the following tests shall be performed using the procedures listed in Exhibit C: <br />a. Mass per unit area <br />b. Aperture size <br />c. Wide strip tensile strength <br />d. Node strength <br />3. Geogrid shall be rejected if conformance test results do not meet or exceed the values <br />presented in Table 2.01. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A. Geogrid Deployment <br />1. No equipment or tools shall damage the geogrid by handling, trafficking;, or other means. <br />2. No personnel working on the geogrid shall smoke, wear damaging shoes, or engage in other <br /> activities that could damage the geogrid. <br />3. On slopes, the geogrid shall be securely anchored and then rolled down the slope in such a <br /> manner as to continually keep the sheet in tension. <br />4. Geogrid panels shall be deployed in such a manner as to preclude wrinkles and folds. <br />5. Geogrid within the lined area shall be cut with a cutter approved by CC&V, such as <br /> scissors. Unshielded razor knives are not acceptable. <br />6. Two layers of geogrid shall be installed as indicated on the Drawings.
