The LLDPE geomembrane was manufactured by Poly-Flex of Grand
Prairie, Texas. Geomembrane installation activities for the LOB liner system included
deployment, seaming, and non-destructive and destructive testing of 100-mil single sided
texture and 80-mil smooth LLDPE geomembrane.
Lonestar installed approximately 30,277 square feet of geomembrane, including geomembrane
in the anchor trench and overlap. A construction blast in the LOB road cut above the LOB pad
on April 23, 2009 caused damage to several liner panels. The majority of panels 1 through 8,
10 and 11 were replaced. All of panels 14 through 21 were replaced. The removal and
placement of the new panels was completed between April 26 and April 28, 2009.
Approximately 5,934 square feet of the original geomembrane was undamaged and not
replaced.
Geomembrane was placed on compacted and approved SLF. Ames anchored geomembrane at
the limits of the LOB in an anchor trench a minimum of 3 feet deep by 2 feet wide. The
geomembrane tie-in panels overlapped the Phase IVc geomembrane panels a minimum of
3 feet and were extrusion welded, as shown in Detail 3 of IFC Drawing A250.
SAPROJECTSN 125E CCV COMM - CONSTRUCTIOMLOB CERT REPORnREPORT BODY\LOB CERT REPORT 2009.07.07.DOC
9
