MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: m-199s_n is
INSPECTION DATE: Z-14-9nn9 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: 11 F
OBSERVATIONS
This was a follow-up inspection to the full site release inspection (conducted 6-30-2009) of the
Wellington Downs Pit; DRMS File# M-1995-035. I, Jared Ebert of the Colorado Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety conducted the inspection. Ms. Tracey Trybom of Connell, Resources accompanied me
on the inspection.
This site was inspected on June 301h, 2009 in response to a full site release request submitted by the
operator. During that inspection, Musk thistle and Canada thistle were observed throughout the site. The
operator was required to treat the infestation prior to the approval of the site release. At this time,
treatments had been completed and the operator notified the Division and requested a follow up
inspection.
Upon arrival at the site, the operator gave me a map of the permit area that highlighted where the various
weed infestations were treated and a letter from the company that conducted the weed control. The map
was color coded to indicate what type of treatments had occurred. The Musk thistle patches were mowed
(See figure 5.), and the patches of Canada thistle were treated with a herbicide. The herbicide appears to
be taking affect; many of the Canada thistle patches appeared burnt and distressed (See figures 1-3.).
Given that the weed control has occurred and appears to be successful, the site is now eligible for release,
and the site release request will be approved.
