2.0 PERMIT MODIFICATIONS
During the current reporting period, July 13, 2008 - July 12, 2009, American Soda
received final approval of Amendment No. 1 (AM-01). The Amendment changed the
post mining land use of several areas of the Piceance site that were sold in 2005.
These areas, primarily associated with the former American Soda initial processing
plant, were transferred for oil and gas related development. The post mining land use
for these areas was converted to industrial. In the future, American Soda will request
that these areas be removed from the reclamation plan. No request for Technical
Revision to 112 Permit No. M-1999-002 was submitted during the report period.
American Soda, UP 2
DRMS Annual Report
July 9. 2009
Photo 1 - This July 2009 photo looking up Piceance Creek was taken from the Yankee Gulch 29-22
production well pad. County Road 5 can be seen in the distance on the left side. Precipitation events
experienced throughout June and early July have provided good conditions for vegetation.
