determine how much mining was actually done. No actual measurements were taken
prior to mining as most of these areas are much older and pre-amendment.
3. Processing facilities - Nothing has actually changed here.
4. Access corridors - No change in access corridors, except a new corridor was established
into the first mining area in the amendment.
5. New soil and overburden stockpiles - Due to the general lack of mining activity in the last
year and restriction to existing disturbances, new stockpiles were small and located near or
adjacent to mining locations. Most of the older stockpiles were removed and used in
reclamation.
RECLAMATION ACTIVITY IN THE LAST YEAR:
Climatic summary of previous year - This was previously discussed elsewhere in the
report.
2. Topsoiling - A great deal of topsoiling was done in the last year, all of it in the upland area
near the highest locations.
A. Locations of topsoiling - All the topsoiling done in the last year was on the pit near
the top of the hill east of the main road. Approximately 60 acres of land was topsoiled
in the last year.
B. Depth of topsoiling - Topsoil depth far exceeded the minimums required by the
plan and if subsoil is included with topsoil, depths in some locations exceeded six
feet.
C. Final grading of topsoiled lands - All lands that were topsoiled were final graded.
No slopes exceed 5:1. In fact, as discussed elsewhere, the final grading closely
matches the original slope gradients and general topographic configuration.
3. Accommodation for drainage - Drainage in recently completed portions has a low spot
that may be problematic and may need correction. It could be beneficial to leave it, but as the
soil settles and compacts the low spot could become considerably larger and too large to
provide the benefit without influencing outflow compliance. Nothing should be done with
this for a year so it can be determined what the final configuration and volume will be.
4. Revegetation - A total of 61 acres were seeded in the last year. This is the same acreage
that was topsoiled and final graded.
A. Acres seeded - 61
B. Seeding provided - Utilized upland mix from Reclamation Permit.
Status report for 2009 due July 15, 2009 Page 8 of 10
