2. Weed status on lessee responsibility lands: Tamarix has mostly been eradicated with final
cleanup to occur this year. This will be followed by monitoring to make sure it does not come
back. Further spurge control was implemented late in 2008 after growing conditions
improved to the point where treatment would be effective. Those treatments were successful,
but with the very wet season in 2009, some of those areas have recovered to about 75% of
what they were in 2008. Additional treatments will occur in 2009.
OTHER INFORMATION THAT MIGHT BE USEFUL FOR FUTURE REFERENCE:
Nothing of special note.
DESCRIPTION OF UNUSUAL CONDITIONS OR EVENTS: None, other than high moisture
levels that has benefitted the site far more than it has damaged the site by expanding weed
populations. In general, the vegetation is much more robust, far healthier, and generally able to hold
its own against the weeds.
PHOTOGRAPHIC DOCUMENTATION: A total of 2 CD's are included with this report. These
include all the photographs taken in the last year. Each CD contains a PDF contact sheet for each of
the directories included on that CD. These contact sheets aid greatly in locating any particular image,
otherwise one would have to wade through all the images. Each digital photograph file is named with
a brief description of what is in the image. The images are all presented in highest resolution JPG or
TIF format. No images were retouched, although all images were edited to produce a good balance in
tone and color rendering. Each image contains the EXIF data for that image so it can be determined
exactly when the image was taken and other pertinent photographic information.
(Note: A copy of this report, less photodocumentation CD's, must also be provided to the Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology to be included in the Reclamation Permit file as well as the United
States Army Corps of Engineers. However, the Corps has stated that they do not want a copy. They
receive their own annual report which contains some of the same information presented here.)
Status report for 2009 due July 15, 2009 Page 10 of 10
