EXHIBIT D
LUSK PIT #36
MINING PLAN
A Material will be moved by front-end loaders and trucks. A bulldozer will be used
in location where loader is impractical due to loose footing. The maximum depth
of the mine is not expected to be lower than the north side of the area (mined area
is a ridge). The strata directly below is generally rock and will not be disturbed.
B The overburden will be moved by front-end loader and bulldozer and will be
stockpiled for use in reclamation.
C There will be a water diversion berm constructed on the north side of the entrance
road in order to insure that no erodible mat is washed onto non-permitted area.
No other berms for erosion control are expected to be necessary. The diversion
berm material will be used in reclamation and will not exist after final
reclamation.
D The area to be disturbed at any one time should not exceed twenty (20) acres.
After ten (10) acres are mined, five (5) acres will be reclaimed. By the time we
have mined a total of fifteen (15) acres, the original five (5) acres should be
reclaimed, and we can start to reclaim another five(5) acres.
E 1 Mining will start when permit is received and will continue on an
as-needed basis. Material to be mined is primarily caliche of varying
depth, with up to 8 (eight) inches of topsoil overburden.
2 Reclamation will be an ongoing process as the site is mined.
3 Mining and reclamation will be continued until supply of usable material
is exhausted.
4 Active mining will move in an eastwardly direction at the site and
reclamation will begin in the exhausted area.
5 Six (6) inches or more of topsoil will be pulled from the stockpile at the
pit site.
6 Reclamation will proceed as mining moves toward the East with the
topsoil stored on-site to be moved back over exhausted area, the ground
sloped 3:1 or flatter where necessary and planted back with native grasses.
The mixture of grass planted will be 20% Sideoats, 30% Western Wheat,
20% Blue Grama, and 30% Buffalo Grass. We will plant 7 to 10 lbs/acre
on land being reclaimed. The pit floor will also be re-vegetated.
