Schiesswohl, Steve Attachment A
From: Steve Schiesswohl
Sent: Wednesday, Juty 16, 2008 4:51 PM
To: 'M Moorhead@ Bestwayco ncrete.com'
Cc: 'cmckay@churchranch.com; Scott Surovehak
Subject: Gas Line and Batch plant at Rooky Flats
Mr. Moorhead-
I appreciated the call this afternoon regarding the concrete batch plant and potential gas
line on DOE property in the western buffer area where the mining operations reside. I was
unaware that a batch plant was authorized under the mining operations and would appreciate
your offer to send me the mining permit that allows those types of operations.
Xcel Energy (Public service of Colorado) does have a transmission gas line easement aver
portions of Rocky F'-.ats. I don't know if this pipeline is actually covered by an easement
in this area vrhe.^e you propose to put in the gas line we d scussed.
I look forward to working this issue with you and it would be much easier for me to get
the help in DOE I need to review this issuer if you sent the mining permit and your
proposal for the gas line in writing and asked DOE whatever it ::s you need.. I don't know
which permitted operation is using the proposed gas line and how or if it has permission
from any other permit holders that it may cross on its way to your permitted area. We are
very concerned with safety and other issues and prior to agreeing to the placement of a
gas line we would need to know as much detail as possible, including the exact location
and depth of the proposed line, so our use of the surface would not result in an impact or
disruption of the line or be a danger to our staff or visitors.
My contact information is below to send me this request.
Charlie - I am looking for the Book and Page for the Rocky Flats survey and will send that
to you in a separate email.
Thanks.
Steven R..
