PUBLIC NOTICE <br />BTU Empire Corporation (BTUEC), 29515 Routt County Road 27, Oak Creek, Colorado <br />80467, has submitted an application for renewal of the existing active Mining and <br />Reclamation Permit (Permit Number C-81-044) for the Eagle 5 & 9 Mines. <br />The mine permit area encompasses approximately 8,840 acres, located approximately 6-7 <br />miles south of Craig, Colorado on both sides of State Highway 13. The Mine is in <br />temporary cessation, with current activities limited to environmental monitoring and <br />maintenance of the existing lands and facilities. The Mine Permit Area is covered by the <br />Round Bottom and Castor Gulch, Colorado USGS 7.5-minute quadrangle maps and <br />includes approximately four miles of State Highway 13. The ownership, precise location, <br />and boundaries of lands within the Permit Area are identified on pages 2.03-16 through <br />2.03-16d, 2.03-17a through 17f, and Maps 1 and 2 of the Permit Application Package <br />(PAP), which is available for review in the Moffat County Clerk and Recorders Office. <br />The Permit Area encompasses all or portions of T5N, R91 W, Sections 4, 5, 6, and 8; <br />T6N, R9 1W; Sections 17, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33; T5N, R92W, Section 1; <br />and T6N, R92W, Sections 25, 26, 35, and 36. <br />Copies of the PAP (less confidential materials) are available for inspection at the above <br />address and the office of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety.
