10227,,.4 <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Twentymile Coal Company' (TCC), 29515 Routt <br />County Road 27, Oak Creek, Colorado 80467, has <br />submitted an application for a Permit Revision (PR) <br />to the Foidel Creek Mine, Permit, Permit Number <br />C-82-056. The revision (PR09-08) modifies the per- <br />mit to reflect the addition of recently leased Federal <br />coal reserves, reflects extension of ongoing develop- <br />ment (previously approved under PR06-07, TR07-63, <br />and TR07-64) to the limits of the Western Mining Dis- <br />trict (WMD); and addresses longwall mining of the <br />WMD reserves <br />The mine permit area currently encompasses ap- <br />_ prox 1 Y44 mate! <br />of pIAg ' qn Co1t* <br />IM R3. and approximately 7.3 miles northwest oi` <br />Oak Creek on Routt County Road 27. Mine offices <br />and major surface facilities are located adjacent to <br />Foidel Creek, near the intersection of these two <br />roads. Additional coal reserves to be incorporated <br />into the mine plan are located in TSN, R87W, Sec- <br />tions 22, 27, and 34. New development in the WMD <br />will be in TSN, R86W, Sections 17, 18, 19, and 20, <br />and TSN, R87W, Sections 13, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, <br />34, and 35. <br />The mine permit area is covered by the Cow Creek, <br />Dunkley, Milner, Mount Hams, Oak Creek, and Rat- <br />tlesnake Butte USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle maps. <br />The Mine Permit Area includes all or portions of Sec- <br />tions 7 through 9, T4N, R86W; TSN, R86W, except <br />Sections 34 through 36; and Sections 13, 22 through <br />24, 25 through 27, and 34 through 36, TSN, R87W. <br />The ownership, Precise location, and boundaries of <br />lands within the Permit are identified on pages <br />2.03-13 through 2.08-18 and 2.03-22 and 2.03-23.1, <br />and Map 1, of the Mine Permit Application Package <br />(PAP), and are included in this public notice by refer- <br />ence. <br />With the exception of any confidential materials, cop- <br />ies of the PAP, including the referenced Permit Revi- <br />sion application, are available for inspection at the <br />mine office and the office of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. In addition, a copy of the <br />Permit Revision application is available for public re- <br />view at the: <br />04ice of Clerk and Recorder <br />Routt County <br />552 Lincoln Avenue <br />P.O: Box 773598 <br />Written comments or objections to this Permit Revi- <br />sion application, or a request for informal conference <br />summarizing the requestor's issue(s) and indicating <br />whether or not the requestor desires the conference <br />to be held in the mine locale, should be submitted to <br />the State of Colorado, Division of Reclamation, Min- <br />ing, and Safety, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, <br />Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 within 30 days of the <br />last date of publication (published once per week for <br />4 consecutive weeks) of this notice.. The proposed <br />activities would occur under the right-of-way of Routt <br />County Road 27, at a location extending from ap- <br />proximately 0.25 miles north of its intersection with <br />Routt . County Road 37, to the point where the road <br />crosses the north edge of Section 23, TSN, R87W. A <br />public hearing to determine whether the interests of <br />the public and affected landowners will be protected <br />can be requested by contacting the CDRMS in writ- <br />ing within 30 days after the last publication of this <br />notice.
