Vrann ng agencies, sewage and water treatment authorities, and water conservancy and water
conservation districts.
The issue is not settled. There will be a bond release walk around at the mine site in
the near future. You should receive notice of the walk around from the Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Tom Kaldenbach 303-866-3567). No one from your
organization was working with Minrec.
Jim Stover
From: Chad Rudow [mailto:chad@roaringfork.org]
Sent: Monday, March 19, 2007 2:49 PM
To: jestover@bresnan.net
Subject: Minrec Inc. final bond release
Dear J.E. Stover,
My name is Chad Rudow and I work for Roaring Fork Conservancy in Basalt CO.
I am a new employee for the organization and was recently given a letter to follow up on.
It is a letter, Dated Dec 26th, notifying us of Minrec. Inc's request to the Division of
Reclamation for a final bond release on a mine reclamation on Thompson Creek near
Carbondale Colorado.
Could you please help me with just a couple of questions? I realize this letter is a few
months old, is this issue already settled and reason the letter was sent out irrelevant?
Secondly, we are a non-profit watershed conservation organization, do you have any idea
why we would have gotten one of these notices in the first place? I see that the final
part of the bond involved water monitoring flume bases and peizometers, and a water
resources area. I assume that might have been why we were contacted. Finally, was someone
from our organization working with Minrec on the reclamation and was there an expected
response to the letter from us?
We are sorry about the late response, and since I am new, any information you could
provide to help clear up this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Chad Rudow
Roaring Fork Conservancy
2
