I?M?c
1,009 Annual Report
Snyder Quarry
I-77-210
Castle Concrete Company
Anniversary Date: May 27
RECEIVED
JUL 022009
Division of Reclamation,
710 Mining and Safety
Overview of Permit Year: During the 2008-2009 operating year activity was virtually dormant. Some material
was sold out of stockpiles. During the months of December through March the quarry was brought back from
dormancy. 4300 feet of road was widened entering the quarry along with a complete rewiring of the production
facility due to vandalism. Nearly 30000 tons of fill material was moved in the area known as Area WP. The
material was moved into the northwest comer where the pit had been over-excavated. It is anticipated that this
backfilling will continue through the upcoming year.
Annual Report Maps: The map provided in this annual report reflects the technical that was approved in early
2009because nothing has changed from previous submitted maps.
Affected Lands: The amount of affected land has not changed, however a technical revision was approved
earlier in 2009 that encompasses the Area AP on the enclosed map. All production that has taken place prior to
the submission of this report has taken place in the Area WP. By July to August the Area AP will be affected.
This is the land above the existing pit and will be accessed by a two lane haul road for trucking material off of
the higher areas of the quarry.
Reclamation: The site is stable and is not subject to erosion. The storm water management systems were
maintained including cleaning of all culverts and new drainage channel and rip rap on the south side of the
access road into the quarry. Noxious weeds were also sprayed and this will continue.
Expected Activity (2009 - 2010): The operation will continue with an increase in production and sales from
the previous year.
Bonding. This operation is covered under a financial warranty corporate surety arrangement provided by
Westchester Fire Insurance Company.
Castle Concrete 2008-2009 Annual Report
M-77-210 Snyder Quarry
