Bowie No. 2 Mine
TR-61 2„d Adequacy Review
18 June 2009
Analysis of Monitoring Data
The Stability Analysis portion of the proposed Volume IX text (pages 13 and 14)
describes, in general terms, the collection, evaluation, and reporting of monitoring
data that will occur on a quarterly basis.
No further action is required.
General Comments (New)
The Volume IX text refers to various coal mine waste ("Gob") piles, numbered 1
through 4, and the west expansion area of Gob Pile #2. The various Gob piles are not
identified on the Maps (Figures) for Volume IX.
Please identify the various coal mine waste piles on the figures in Volume IX.
Coal mine waste piles have been identified - no further action is required.
On Volume IX, Figure 1, Section D-D', there is an unidentified blue line that roughly
parallels the green original ground surface line.
Please identify the blue line, or remove if it is irrelevant.
The line has been removed - no further action is required.
In the Legend for Figure 2 (Volume IX), symbols for the rock drains and the lateral
subdrains have not been provided. There are also some small, fuchsia concentric
circles near the haul road that are not identified in the legend.
Please modify the Legend for Figure 2 to include symbols for the items listed.
The Legend has been modified - no further action is required.
In the southwestern corner of Map 15-3 is proposed Gob pile, with a note to refer to
Volume XI.
Please verify that Volume XI is correct (perhaps it should be Volume IX?).
Volume XI is correct - no action was required.
This concludes my adequacy review comments for Technical Revision No. 61. Please do
not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.
