riparian zone bisecting the area, and mixed aspen/conifer cover on adjacent hillsides. A Mallard hen
and two ducklings were on the third treatment pond. A water snake was spotted next to the second
treatment pond.
Reve¢etation
The mine site in and around the Water Development Area and on the Mine No. #3 portal bench has
good vegetative cover that is dominated by 4-5 foot tall Rubber Rabbitbrush, with Crested wheatgrass
and fescue as the dominant herbaceous species. Cicer milkvetch is an abundant forb. The amount of
cover appears adequate to control erosion. No species toxic to livestock or wildlife were found.
Significant weed problems were not evident. A few Hound's tongue and thistle were found during the
inspection. The operator's representative explained that weeds will be sprayed later this summer.
Subsidence
There were no signs of subsidence from underground workings around the portal areas.
Reclamation Success
Observations made during this inspection indicate the operator has achieved reclamation success, with
continuing underground mine water discharge.
Photo t — Mine I reclaimed portal bench. ftt4MMIIIiii
5
