<br />10242-2 <br />Notice of Proposed Decision <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety has issued a proposed decision to Approve <br />Bond Release Application No. 2 (SL-2) for the Grassy <br />Gap No 1 Mine, Permit No. C-1981-039. The mine <br />was operated by Rockcastle Coal Company under <br />the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining <br />Reclamation Act of 1979. The mining and reclama- <br />tion permit expired April 23, 1990, and the Mined <br />Land Reclamation Board recommended that renewal <br />of the Grauy Gap No. 1 Mine permit be denied. The <br />permit was revoked and the bond was forfeited by <br />the Division. Final reclamation activities were com- <br />pleted under direction of the Division. All reclamation <br />bond monies were utilized for reclamation and main- <br />tenance of the site. All of the forfeited reclamation <br />bond has been expended. I With approval of this <br />bond release application (SL2), the Division shall ter- <br />minate its jurisdiction on the Grassy Gap No. 1 Mine <br />site. The affected area is located in Routt County, <br />approximately 10 miles south of Hayden, Colorado. <br />Copies of the proposed decision are available for re- <br />view at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining <br />and Safety office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, , <br />Denver, Colorado 80203, and at the office of the <br />Routt County Clerk & Recorder. <br />Any person who has an interest which is or may be <br />adversely affected may request an adjudicatory hew- <br />ing regarding this proposed decision.
