ORIGINAL - PUBLIC FILL <br />(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: <br />INSPECTION DATE: 9,/77,109 INSPECTORDS INITIALS: _RK_ <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site as part of sites to be <br />inspected during the fiscal years 2008-2009 <br />1) Site is a small 110 sand and gravel operation located 5 miles south east of Simla, <br />Colorado. +^ <br />2) Site was once owned by E1 Paso county, succeeded by Schuler Terracing in 2002. <br />3) On 12/25/2003 the site was amended from 3.9 acres to 9.9 acres with a warranty of <br />$20,000.00 Post and pre-mining land use is Range Land. <br />4)Present during the inspection was Mr. Henry Schuler of Schuler Terracing. <br />50 approximately 5 acres has been affected with 2 acres in reclamation, three acres active <br />mining area. Processed stockpiled material was noted along the west side of the active <br />mining area. Along the south east side of the active mining are a small ponded water from <br />the recent rain, and snow melt noted. Normally in such alluvium deposits, such storage <br />percolates to gw in less than 72 hours even with the shale outcropping in close proximity <br />to the to the surface in this area. <br />6) Permit sign and boundary markers were properly posted at the time of the inspection. <br />The entire permit area is fenced. <br />8) A couple of old dozers were parked along the North side of the permit.
