(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-2007-058
INSPECTION DATE: 6-10-09 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety normal
monitoring program. The inspection was conducted as a matter of convenience as the inspector was in the remote
area for another unrelated site unexpectedly. Therefore the operator was not contacted. This inspection is a courtesy
inspection since the operation is just beginning.
The Sheehan Pit is a 110c permitted site located in Northeastern Moffat County on the Wyoming border. The
permit recently went to active status although there have been previous disturbances on site by others. The operator
has begun some work on site with re-establishment of the access road to the upper bench. Clean up of sloughed
material near the county road was also noted. An excavator was observed on the upper bench.
The mine identification sign is not in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12. The sign should be located at the
entrance to the site off the county road where it enters the permit boundary. Permit boundaries are marked by t-posts
and geological features that are easily identifiable. The lack of a sign is not being noted as a problem at this time.
The inspector requests that C&B install the sign as soon as possible and send a photo of it installed on site to show
compliance.
Overall it appears that the approved mine plan is being instituted. No erosion or sedimentation issues are noted. No
trash or unsightly debris was observed. No fuel storage or other hazardous or petroleum products were noted.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no.
970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: John Corson
OPERATOR: C&B Sand and Gravel
STREET: P.O.
