(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1978-007
INSPECTION DATE: 6-9-09 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety normal
monitoring program. The Big Burn Pit No. 17 is a I I2c permitted site located off County Road I ON in northwestern
Moffat County. Marvin Moore representative for Moffat County accompanied the inspector on site.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12.
The sign is located at the entrance to the site where it enters the permit boundary. Permit boundaries are marked by
signs that clearly state "permit boundary" and are located at key corners and along de-linear lines as needed.
Stockpiled materials were noted on site of processed materials. A berm around the stockpile prevents erosional loss
of product and unauthorized disturbance of the piles. A front end loader was observed on site and indications of
stockpile and loading work were noted. The pit area has no highwalls and temporary slopes are 2:1 to 3:1.
Recent rains allow the inspector to observe stormwater controls. The drainage on site directs all flows to the pit
area. There is very minor riling on temporary slopes and inner roads which is not an issue. There are two major
retention areas which were full but not compromised. No off site drainage issues are noted.
The topsoil piles are clearly marked with signage to prevent accidental loss. The piles are vegetated with both the
approved seed mix and volunteer species. The operator has an extensive weed control plan which is implemented.
Overall the site is clear of any debris. No fuel tanks were noted. The site is very clean and well maintained.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no.
970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address cc:
X CE: Marvin Moore
NAME: Billy Mack ?
