III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br /> during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br /> and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was an aerial inspection flown by Harry Ranney of the Colorado Division of, Reclamation, <br /> Mining, and Safety(Division). Oblique aerial photographs were taken on May 28, 2009 and reviewed <br /> in the office by Jason Musick of the Division on June 15, 2009. Photos taken are provided at the end <br /> of the report. No problems were identified in the photographs. <br /> Roads <br /> The Old Tipple Road, North Road, Lower Moffat Road, Center Ridge Pond Road, West Ridge Pond <br /> Road, and West Ridge Road were snow covered. No problems were noted in the Photographs. <br /> Hydrologic Balance <br /> The Moffat, Center Ridge and West Ridge Ponds contained water at the time of the inspection. All <br /> embankments appeared to be stable and in compliance with no visible signs of erosion or damage. <br /> The four Moffat down drains were covered in snow but appeared stable with no evident signs of <br /> damage. <br /> The "string-of-pearls" permanent drainage channel contained water in approximately 8 impoundments <br /> with no signs of damage. <br /> Support Facilities <br /> The permanent buildings at the mine and the area around the buildings appeared to be stable and no <br /> problems were noted. All three permanent sediment ponds appeared to be in compliance. <br /> Revegetation <br /> Due to the high amount of snow cover, any revegetation progress was undetermined during this aerial <br /> inspection. <br /> Slides and Damage <br /> There was no evidence of slides or damage during this aerial inspection <br /> Reclamation Success <br /> The West Ridge and Moffat reclamation areas appeared stable with good vegetative cover noted. <br />
