Joe Dudash
June 11, 2009
BRL: Figures 1 & 2 are updated showing locations of Gob Piles 1-3. Gob Pile #3 is in the field
south of SH 133 and not shown on any Figures.
7. DRMS: On Volume IX, Figure 1, Section D-D', there is an unidentified blue line that roughly
parallels the green original ground surface line.
Please identify the blue line, or remove if it is irrelevant
BRL: It appears the blue line was irrelevant and has been removed from Figure 1.
8. DRMS: In the Legend for Figure 2 (Volume IX), symbols for the rock drains and the lateral
subdrains have not been provided. There are also some small, fuchsia concentric circles near
the haul road that are not identified in the legend.
Please modify the Legend for Figure 2 to include symbols for the items listed.
BRL: The rock drain and lateral subdrains have been added to the legend of Figure 2. The
fuchsia concentric circles are utilities, and lines have been drawn between the circles for
clarification.
9. DRMS: In the southwestern corner of Map 15-3 is proposed Gob pile, with a note to refer to
Volume XI.
Please verify that Volume Xl is correct (perhaps it should be Volume IX?).
BRL: Volume XI is correct for proposed Gob Pile #3.
Hydrologic Review
10. DRMS: The hydrology designs were well done. However, a few minor changes need to be
made in the table on page App-139 of Appendix B entitled "Summary Coal Mine Waste Disposal
Area Ditches and Culverts" and on Figure 3, entitled "Coal Mine Waste Disposal Area Pond F
Detail".
A. For ditches F6 and F18, the ditch depths listed in Appendix B for the minimum grade
and for the maximum grade should be the same for each ditch since the grade of each
ditch is continuous. The same is true for the velocities for minimum and maximum
grades. Please revise Appendix B accordingly.
BRL: Updated table on Page B-9 to show constant ditch depths for ditches F6 and F18.
B. The peak flow for ditch F9 is listed in Appendix B as being 0.00 cfs instead of the 1.67
cfs listed on page App-B20. Please revise.
BRL: Updated table on Page B-9 to show the correct flow for ditch F9.
C. For ditch F14, the D50 size is listed in Appendix B as being 21 inches in the table but
as being 9 inches on page App-B25. Please revise accordingly.
