DRAINAGE CRITERIA MANUAL (V. 3) CONSTRUCTION BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES <br />SB <br />TEJ MRMY SEDIMENT BASIN <br />• <br />Definitions <br />A temporary basin with a controlled stormwater release structure, formed by excavation or construction <br />of an embankment of compacted soil. Required for all drainage areas greater than 1 area. <br />Purposes <br />To detain sediment-laden runoff from distributed areas to allow the majority of the sediment to <br />settle out. <br />Umfting Geometry: <br />L/W greater than 2.0 <br />100-Year or Larger Emergency Spillway <br />Required volume to crest of emergency <br />spillway = 1800 cubic feet per acre of <br />drainage area.
