6.0 Evaluation of Proposed and Existing Environmental
Protection Facilities
An environmental protection facility (EPF) is defined by HRMMR §1.1(15) as follows:
"Environmental Protection Facilihj" means a structure zohich is identified in
the "Environmental Protection Plan" as designed, constructed, and operated
for-control and containment of designated chemicals, acid mine drainage, or
toxic or acid-forming materials that will be exposed or disturbed as a result of
mining and reclamation operations."
The Van 4 Mine currently does not have any such facilities. In addition, future EPFs
are not planned to be constructed, because neither designated chemicals, nor toxic- or
acid-forming materials or acid rock drainage are present at the Van 4 Mine. Therefore,
evaluation of proposed or existing EPFs is not applicable to this EPP. In addition,
descriptions of monitoring systems, release response, or containment systems related
to EPFs are not applicable to this EPP.
•
0
6-1
7:\84988-Denison Mines\Task Order 4 - EPP Sunday Mines GroulrVan4\Van4TINAL Report\FINAL - Environmental Protection Plan Van4.doc
