•
2.0 Potential for Adverse Impacts
HRMMR § 6.4.20(1) provides for evaluation of potential adverse impacts associated
with designated chemicals, toxic- or acid-forming materials, or acid rock drainage at
mine facilities. This section identifies facilities present at the Van 4 Mine in relation to
the requirements of HRMMR § 6.4.20(1), and presents general discussion regarding
the potential for these facilities to contain designated chemicals, toxic- or acid-forming
materials, or acid rock drainage.
2.1 Description of Specified Mine Facilities
HRMMR § 6.4.20(1)(c) sets forth various types of mine facilities that require specific
evaluation for the presence of designated chemicals and acid- or toxic-forming
materials. Exhibit 2-1 describes the types of Specified Facilities that are present at the
Van 4 Mine in relation to HRMMR § 6.4.20(1)(c):
Exhibit 2-1. Exhibit 2-2
summarizes characteristics of the only Specified Facility present at the Van 4 Mine:
the development rock stockpile. This facility is a pre-existing mine facility as
referenced in HRMMR §6.4.20(1)(d).
Exhibit 2-2. Denison has completed extensive
geochemical characterization work at the Van 4 Mine. This section provides a
summary of the results of this work.
T:\84986-Denison Mines\Task Order 4 - EPP Sunday Mines Group-Van4\Van4TINAL Report\FINAL - Environmental Protection Plan Van4.doc
2-1
