EXHIBIT G <br />WATER INFORMATION <br />GUNNISON RIVER GRAVEL PITS <br />All five pits are located on a terrace above the west side of the Gunnison River. The sites <br />slope from west to east at less than five percent to the River. During the mining of the <br />pits, drainage from above the pit and those areas around the pits will drain into the <br />excavation. When mining is completed, five ponds will be created with surface areas <br />ranging in size from 3.6 to 8.5 acres. The surface elevation of the ponds will be four to <br />fifteen feet below the elevation of the present ground elevation. See Exhibit F. <br />Dewatering will be required to mine the gravel deposits in these pits. Ground water will <br />be pumped during the mining operation directly to the Gunnison River. A Colorado <br />Discharge Permit Certification under Discharge Associated with Sand and Gravel Mining <br />and Processing Operations will be applied for from the Colorado Department of Public <br />Health and Environment. The estimated flow of water during dewatering will be from <br />200 to 600 gallons per minute. Pumping volumes are affected by the River flows and the <br />amount of previously mined area being dewatered. <br />A Substitute Water Supply Plan will be filed with the Office of the State Engineer, <br />Division of Water Resources to present an assessment of water use and depletions <br />associated with the gravel mining operations and to provide replacement water to offset <br />potential out-of-priority depletions. A plan for augmentation will be filed with Water <br />Court three years prior to completion of the mining. <br />The estimated maximum daily water requirements are 31,000 gallons, which will be used <br />mainly for dust control on haul roads and the crusher. When in full production, annual <br />water requirements are estimated at 6 acre-feet. <br />The property owner of the mining parcels have water rights to 1.2 cfs in East Creek and <br />8.9 cfs in the Gunnison River, a portion of which can be uses for reclamation and dust <br />control. Potential out of priority depletions will be purchased from The Bureau of <br />Reclamation out of Blue Mesa Reservoir.
