f) The pit will be accessed from Co. Rd. 49. There are already two driveways from Co. Rd. 49
into the put area. Both driveways are included in the permitted pit area and will remain
after reclamation for land owner use. There will also be temporary haul roads inside the pit
area, but they will be removed as reclamation occurs.
g) There will be no shop, plant or other facilities permanently located at the mine site.
Equipment will be maintained at the site when the mining is occurring. This will be on a
periodic basis since material will only be mined on an as-needed basis. The equipment used
to mine the gravel will be primarily a scraper, dozer, front-end loader, and trucks. Fuel and
equipment storage will not be allowed in the actual pit. This and good housekeeping will
minimize the potential of any contamination. The final mine floor will be well above static
water level and should pose no threat to ground water. Equipment will be serviced out of
the mining area.
h) No water will be used in conjunction with the operation. There could be instances when
heavy rainfall makes the site too muddy to continue. At those times, mining will simply
cease until the site becomes dry enough to mine again. Mining will not go into the
groundwater at the site.
i) The material to be mined will be used for road construction.
L The material which lies at the bottom is a clay type soil.
j) The materials to be removed from this pit include gravel and gravel with clay. All material is
intended to be used for road construction.
