Vaffa Companies, Inc.
Office of Special Projects
1431 East le Street Greeley, Colorado 80631 Telephone (970) 353-8310 Fax(970)353-4047
JUNE 2009 ANNUAL REPORT - M78-056 - DURHAM - PIT 117
Extraction continues in Area A in a westerly direction extending nearly to the scale-
house, and will progress along Area A south of the scalehouse to the access road. The
shop has now been disassembled, but may be relocated to a location near the existing
concrete plant in the coming year. Area C is predominantly stockpiles. In 2007, wet
plant operations were moved to the North end of Area B to facilitate continued extraction
activities, as indicated in the 2007 Annual Report. Area B is not anticipated to be opened
for extraction until the completion of Area A. Grading has been concurrent with
extraction and will continue along the southern boundary of Area A through 2009-2010.
Filling of Area D is continuing along the Southern boundary of Area D, while approved
flood abatement activities have been completed along the berm separating Area D along
the Southern boundary of the Cache La Poudre River. This location has been seeded and
seedlings emerged and survived into the present year.
