S g ?UJ e_ "I'l 4w3/e- q u ray ?/
Russ,
This email is a follow-up to the voice mail message my husband left you this morning.
The marble quarry, operated by Polycor as Colorado Stone Quarries, has severely damaged our
property. The quarry plowed so much debris over the cliff and onto our property that it
destroyed one of our access bridges. In another location, similar plow debris has damaged a
footbridge and threatens to bring that bridge down as well. And worst of all, there is a
trail across our property at the bottom of this cliff that attracts thousands of visitors
each year.
Further, the quarry has run its marble slurry down the cliff in at least 2 places onto our
property.
We need you to investigate. We will be here through the weekend and would appreciate it if
you can make an emergency inspection of the damage while we are here. In any event, your
department must do something to stop this. It is fundamental that the quarry cannot operate
outside it's boundaries, much less in the manner it does, which carelessly damages our
property. And because of the recklessness of the marble quarry operation, many people are
now at risk.
Please reply by email and let me know when you will be up here to inspect the damage.
Thank you,
Kim McIntyre
1
