Please find attached a copy of
that correspondence. Telephone communication has not been possible so this notice is being sent by
facsimile to ensure Colorado Stone Quarries is aware of the situation and pending site visit. DRMS will
be visiting the site on May 26 at 10:00 am. Staff will be also visiting the adjacent property to assess
damages noted and investigate possible causes.
It would be in Colorado Stone Quarries best interest to review the situation quickly. DRMS will ask for
an assessment of the situation with facts and if necessary possible solutions. That assessment will be
included in the investigation which will determine if a possible violation of the Act and Rules has
occurred. Colorado Stone Quarries full cooperation in this matter will greatly be appreciated and
expected.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone
no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G.
