Pond PP-2 contained water with no discharge noted. Embankments were stable and well vegetated <br /> with no problems noted. <br /> The fresh water lagoon contained water, although not discharging at the time of the inspection. The <br /> lagoon was stable with no problems noted at the time of the inspection. <br /> Pond RP-1 was dry at the time of the inspection. Embankments were stable and well vegetated at <br /> the time of the inspection. The primary and emergency spillways were in compliance with no <br /> problems noted. <br /> Pond RP-2/3 contained a small amount of water in the upper cells and the lower cell at the time of the <br /> inspection. No discharge was noted. The embankments were stable and well vegetated at the time of <br /> the inspection. <br /> Pond RP-4 contained water with no discharge at the time of the inspection. The pond embankments <br /> were stable. No problems were noted with the spillways at the time of the inspection. <br /> Pond RP-5a contained water with no discharge noted. The combination primary/emergency spillway <br /> found to be incompliance with no problems noted. The embankments were well vegetated and <br /> stable. <br /> Pond RR-1 was dry at the time of the inspection. Embankments were stable with no problems noted. <br /> Primary riser and emergency spillway found to be in compliance. <br /> Pond SS-1 contained water, with no discharge at the time of the inspection. Embankments appeared <br /> stable and well vegetated with no signs of damage. <br /> Pond SS-2 was dry at the time of the inspection. No problems were noted. Embankments appeared <br /> stable with good vegetation throughout. <br /> Roadside ditches appeared to be in compliance with no problems noted. Diversion ditches around <br /> RP-1, 2/3/4, and 5A were in compliance with no damage or maintenance issues noted. Facilities area <br /> ditches appeared to be in compliance and no problems were noted with the exception of the following: <br /> • The diversion ditch at the entrance to the CSP to the DPA pond will need to be cleared of <br /> non-coal waste. <br /> Explosives <br /> Deserado Mine installed a 4'X4'X4' prefabricated Type II explosives magazine with associated cap <br /> magazine at the explosive storage site. This magazine is for temporary storage of explosives, which <br /> is permitted in the Deserado permit. Deserado Mine does not currently store explosives onsite and <br /> storage will commence when the ATF permit is renewed. <br /> Processing Waste <br /> Refuse Pile - 2/3/4 was well compacted and stable at the time of the inspection. Grading appeared to <br /> allow good run-off to ponds. No problems were noted. Refuse Pile - 5 was in progress of being <br /> compacted at the time of the inspection. Both sites appeared to show good run-off to the ponds via <br /> the collection ditches. Slight gulling was evident on the north side of RP-5a. Coal Mine Waste was <br /> being stockpiled at RP-5a at the time of the inspection. <br /> Support Facilities <br /> Surface facilities in and around the office and maintenance facilities appeared to be in compliance. <br /> No problems were noted. <br />
