COR-030000 Stormwater Management Plan
the area. Maintenance would be to remove sediment and re-grade and stabilize the
eroded area. Should damage occur to a preserved vegetative buffer strip a new or
additional BMP should be considered.
v) Wind erosion control
Wind erosion and dust control may be necessary if wind is transporting soil within or
off site. Wind erosion control functions to stabilize the soil surface reducing the
potential for wind erosion. Wind erosion control consists of applying water and/or
other dust palliatives as necessary to prevent or alleviate erosion by the forces of
wind. Wetting of soils with magnesium chloride and calcium chloride may be done
as a means of dust suppression. MSDS sheets can be found in Appendix G.
Covering of small stockpiles or areas is an alternative to applying water or other dust
palliatives. If needed, a soil tackifier can be applied to control wind erosion.
Disturbed areas should be inspected for obvious signs of wind erosion and BMPs
implemented, if needed. Areas with wind erosion controls in place should be
inspected for structural integrity and coverage, and repaired or replaced as
appropriate.
vi) Training
Employees and contractors will be trained on good housekeeping and the proper use
and storage of materials. All Denison personnel are required to become aware of the
SWMP and the procedures and protocols established in the plan. The basic outline
for discussion during training sessions will include the following topics:
• Discussion of the purpose of the Stormwater Permit
o Background
o Current permit status
• Best management practices
o Site BMP features
o Implementation of BMPs
o Maintenance of BMPs
o Inspections
• Spill response procedures
o Notification
o Cleanup procedures
o Record keeping
A training signature sheet is located in Appendix E of this SWMP. Follow-up
training will be done as needed on inspection and maintenance procedures. In
addition, appropriate mining contractors will be made aware of the SWMP and, in
particular, the requirements of the plan related to storage locations, fuel station
requirements, and spill reporting and cleanup requirements.

Vemson Mines (USA) Corp.
