COR-030000 Stormwater Management Plan
vehicle fuel), litter, and sanitary waste at the site that may cause adverse impacts to water
quality.
I-?) Jther areas orprocedures wherepotentiadspillscan occur
Other potential pollutant sources related to mining activity includes:
• Outdoor milling or processing activities - Milling of mined ore from the
Sunday Mines is conducted at Denison's White Mesa mill near Blanding,
Utah. Therefore, processing activities are not conducted at the Sunday Mines.
• Tailings ponds - Milling of ore is not conducted at the Sunday Mines,
therefore, tailings from mill processes are not generated at these locations.
• Crushing facilities or processing activities - Ore is not crushed at the Sunday
Mines.
• Historic mine drainage - Mine drainage resulting from the discharge of mine
water to the surface has not been necessary at Sunday Mines. Some water can
be encountered during underground mining activity, but routing of waters to
inactive underground areas and the use of water for mining purposes
eliminates the need to dewater the mine and discharge water to the surface.
These mines have historically been non-discharging facilities.
• Trace metal - Consideration of trace metal migration from the waste rock is
appropriately addressed within the context of the Mining Permits issues by
Colorado's Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. As such, necessary
revision(s) to stormwater management practices relative to trace metal
consideration can be prompted by those permit reviews and incorporated into
this plan as necessary. Transport of trace metals has not occurred at this site.
No other potential pollutant sources are identified at this time.
See further discussion of appropriate BMPs in Section 3.c) and Appendix C.
c) BMPs for Stormwater Pollution Prevention (§I.C.3.c):
The following sections describe the BMPs selected for implementation on this site. Specific
locations of BMPs are indicated on the site plans, provided in Appendix B. Detailed
installation specifications are provided in Appendix C.
I? .SlriicluralPracticesfor ?roswn and Sediment Control ?,¢I. C.3.c?1)
Structural practices are those physical structures implemented at the site to minimize
erosion and sediment transport. The potential BMPs for the project are described below.
Specific locations for BMP implementation at the site are indicated on the site plans,
provided in Appendix B. Appendix C provides the installation details for BMPs.
l

Denison Mines (USA) Corp.
9
Sunday Mines SWMP
