6.0 Evaluation of Proposed and Existing Environmental
Protection Facilities
An environmental protection facility (EPF) is defined by HRMMR §1.1(15) as follows:
"Environmental Protection Facility" means a structure which is identified in
the "Environmental Protection Plan" as designed, constructed, and operated
for control and containment of designated chemicals, acid mine drainage, or
toxic or acid-forming materials that Will be exposed or disturbed as a result of
mining and reclamation operations."
The Sunday Mines Group currently does not have any such facilities. In addition,
future EPFs are not planned to be constructed, because neither designated chemicals,
nor toxic- or acid-forming materials or acid rock drainage are present at the Sunday
Group Mines. Therefore, evaluation of proposed or existing EPFs is not applicable to
this EPP for the Sunday Mines Group. In addition, descriptions of monitoring
systems, release response, or containment systems related to EPFs are not applicable
to this EPP.
is
•
6-1
7184986-Denison Mines\Task Order 4 - EPP Sunday Mines GroupTINAL EPPTINAL - Environmental Protection Plan Sunday Mines.doc
