Permittees who have been covered under the previous general permit and <br />reapplied in a timely manner will automatically be covered under this renewal general permit without lapse in permit coverage. <br />Permit fees previously paid will also automatically be transferred to this renewal general permit. Permittees will need to comply <br />with the terms and conditions of the new permit beginning July 1, 2008. In the interim, the permittee shall comply with the terms <br />and conditions set in the previous certification. As before, only discharges to surface waters of the State are covered. The Colorado <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has authority over discharges to ground water from sand and gravel mining <br />and processing operations. There have been several changes to the permit. Please see the rationale. <br />project Name, Activity and Location <br />Koenig Pit - The facility is located on WCR 20, approximately '/a mile west of WCR 25, south side of the road, near Fort Lupton <br />(Weld County), CO; Latitude: 40° 7.8" north, longitude: 104° 51.3' west. Construction sand and gravel is produced at this site. Only <br />ground water from the pit area is discharged from this site. <br />Outfalls - - -- - -` --?---- <br />-- -- <br />?- Estimated Flow Rate <br />Owj-qlls? ?_---- <br />The discharge from a settling area in the southwest comer of the site, prior to Avg.= 6.48 MGD <br />001A entering Meadow Island Ditch #1*, which flows to the South Platte River. <br />* All discharges must comply with the lawful requirements of federal agencies, municipalities, counties, drainage districts, and other local <br />agencies regarding any discharges to storm drains systems, conveyances, or other water courses under their jurisdiction <br />Effluent Parameters <br />The discharge goes to the South Platte River, within Segment 01a of the Middle South Platte River Sub-basin, South Platte River <br />Basin, found in the Classifications and Numeric Standards for the South Platte River Basin (Regulation No. 38; last update effective <br />March 1, 2008).
