• TOMOGRAPHY PAD (TM)
TM-1 through TM-6 (Tomographic Retort Observation Wells) (Figure 4-13)
(All TM wells will be drilled following the same methods)
Drill a nominal 19" diameter hole a minimum 40 feet with at least 5 feet into competent
bedrock.
• Run 16", 75#, J55 Surface Casing.
• Cement with "Neat Cement" to surface.
• Rig up diverter and wait on cement a minimum of 4 hours.
• Drill out through the surface casing with 143/4" diameter PDC. Advance the drill hole to
±1970 feet.
• Run 10 3/4", 40.5#, J-55 casing with a guide/float shoe to 1970 feet (top of Illite).
• Mix and pump a Type I or 11 Portland Cement via tremie in multiple lifts.
• Wait on cement 12 hours.
• Trip into the hole with a nominal 9 7/8" bit and drill from 1970' to 2240' (TD). Large
• diameter cores may recovered from this section.
• Circulate the hole clean and trip out of the hole.
• Perform hydrologic testing on the R-1 interval.
• An array of retort monitoring instruments will be strapped to the outside of 4 %2" DHC
250 Fiberglass epoxy integral joint casing. The casing will be run and cemented prior to
the startup of the test retort.
L
33
