SL-3, Partial Phase One Bond Release, Request for Assistance
I am requesting your assistance in the review of the Partial Phase One Bond Release (SL-
3) request, submitted by Bowie Resources LLC (BRL) for the Bowie No. 1 Mine. The
bond release request is for structural demolition and removal at the unit train loadout. The
reclamation work was performed during September through November 2006 and
involved the truck dump, concrete silos, the rail car loadout with associated structures
and the conveyors. BRL is requesting release of $1,200,000.00 of the required
reclamation liability of $5,756,607.00. The Division currently holds a reclamation bond
of $5,761,290.00 for the Bowie No. 1 Mine.
Attached is one copy of the SL-3 submittal and a three page itemized worksheet supplied
by the operator. If you need any additional information, please let me know.
I will call SL-3 complete on August 9, 2007. As you know, a site inspection is required
within 30 days of completeness, weather permitting. I would appreciate your response
back before the site inspection. If I could get your response back by August 31, 2007, that
would be most helpful. Thanks!
