Construction of the facilities at the Seneca II <br />Mine began iSl 1968 after mining was conq~leted at Seneca I <br />which was north of Highway 40. The following describes the <br />existing facilities and structures. FSdiibit 12-1 and 12-2 <br />shows the location of the facilities. <br />TRANSPORTATION FACII~TTFS. <br />Aooess to the Seneca II Mine can be gained by travelling west <br />fs'rnn Steamboat Springs on Highway 40 far approximately 20 <br />miles to the Twenty-Mile Road, just east of Hayden. Travel <br />south on the TWenty-Mile Road for approximately 2.5 miles to a <br />side road on the left, this point is the beginning of the mine <br />access road. The gravel aocess road runs approximately one <br />mile southeast to the mine office. <br />Haulage Roads. ?here are presently approximately 10.6 miles <br />of existing haul roads which are shoran on Exhibit 12-1. <br />Typical cross-sections are shown on E~ibit 7-14. <br />PO477FR TRANS[+LTSSION. <br />The existing power tram; ~Gion lines serving the mine were <br />constructed approximately in 1967 by Yampa Valley Electric <br />Association. A sukstation, northwest of the shop, was also <br />constructed at that time but has sine been moved south of the <br />shop. The substations are located near the western side of <br />the permit boUIldaTy i.Tl the SE~~ Section 3, T5N, RB7W and in <br />the SE;SW; of Section 2, TSN, R87W to better serve the future <br />needs of the mine. Power coming into the substations is 69KV <br />and then stepped darn to 4160V to suit the needs of the shop <br />and draglines. <br />BUILDINGS. <br />The existing buildings consist of an office, bathhouse, <br />warehouse and mechanical repair building, maintenance <br />12-20 Revised 12/10/92 <br /> <br />LJ <br />• <br />
