Formerly owned by LaFarge and now Albert Frei Sand and Gravel..
For the last 11 years my home at 12500 Brighton Road has never had any problems with water till
Lafarge constructed their slurry wall around there pit directly to the west of my house. Before
construction of the slurry wall, I didn't even have a sump pump in my sump pit and even on the wettest
year there was never any water in it, since the wall I have had to install a pump and the subterrainion
water is right at the bootom of the pit, which puts the water approxiamately 24" higher now than when
the house was built.
In a related problem I am enclosing some photos of my beach and dock area. If you look carefully of
the pictures of my dock you will see there is a 3foot tall landscape block wall in the water under the dock
for erosion contol. Before the slurry wall was installed, the water levels would fall in the winter by a
minumum of 3-4 feet, which made the installation of the block walls easy. We would then add water in the
summers to bring the lake up 2 to 3 feet. As the pictures show, the instalation of the slurry wall has
caused the landscape blocks to be under water or ice 12 months out of the year. We have also lost six feet
of beach which is also now under water.
We have no problem with them wanting the gravel but if they don't do something soon it could cause
irreversable damage to my house and thoses of my neighbors. Any help you can give us would be greatly
appreciated, all our concerns to LaFarge have gone on deaf ears.
Sincerely Matt and Nathalie Pawlak
12500 Brighton Road
Brighton, CO 80601
303-655-0131
Insert movie times and more without leaving Hotmail@.
