We moved here in 2002. Our address is 12550 Brighton Road.
When we moved in, we built a boat ramp. The lake was down enough to lay a slab of cement to drop
boats into the lake. Along with that we have a ramp that we built that is stationary. Because of this ramp
and slab of cement we are able to see the rise and fall of the lake that ranges anywhere from 12 inches to
24 inches based on the stationary dock.
About 4 years ago LaFarge constructed a slurry wall for a Stagecoach pit. Before this wall was built,
the Zigan Lake ground water would flow just north of our home and go to the South Platte River which is
the natural flow to the river. Ground water levels have been a major concern in this area since the
installation of the slurry wall for the Stagecoach pit. We believe that as a direct result of mining
operations and slurry walls at the Stagecoach pit, Bromley District Water Providers LLC (Brannon pit) and
dewatering operations by the 120th Water Group have caused restriction to this natural ground water flow
to the South Platte River.
Since this time of construction by LaFarge, we have seen our lake come up considerably and we are
concerned about damage to our homes and property because of the 24 inch increase in ground water
levels.
Thank you for your time and help with this very serious matter.
Sincerely,
Wilbert and Sharon Bostrom
12250 Brighton Road
Brighton, CO 80601
303-659-1331
wjbostrom(amsn.com
Zigan Homeowners Association
0
