<br />I, Randal Sunderland, do solemnly swear that I am managing
<br />editor of the Delta County Independent, that the same is a weekly
<br />newspaper printed, in whole or in part, and published in the County
<br />of Delta, State of Colorado, continuously and uninterruptedly in
<br />said County of Delta for a period of more than fifty-two consecu-
<br />tive weeks prior to the first publication of the annexed legal notice
<br />or advertisement; that said newspaper has been admitted to the
<br />United States mails as second-class matter under the provisions
<br />of the Act of March 3, 1879, and all amendments thereof, and that
<br />said newspaper is a weekly newspaper duly qualified for publish-
<br />ing legal notices and advertisements within the meaning of the laws
<br />of the State of Colorado; that the annexed legal notice or adver-
<br />tisement was published in the regular and entire issue of every
<br />number of said weekly newspaper for the period of one con-

<br />PUBLIC NOTICE
<br />Bowie Resources, LLC, Box 483,
<br />Paonia, Colorado, 81428, has filed
<br />with the Division of Reclamation,
<br />Mining and Safety a complete
<br />application for a technical revision
<br />for its Bowie No. 1 Mine permit No.
<br />C-1981-038. The proposed revision
<br />will amend the reclamation plan.
<br />References to reclamation concerns
<br />caused by the rock slopes were
<br />deleted since the rock slopes were
<br />never developed. A provision for
<br />extensive roughening of reclaimed
<br />surfaces was added to the plan. The
<br />plan to fertilize the reclaimed areas
<br />was removed from the reclamation
<br />plan.
<br />The Bootie No.,1. Miaeia.located-in
<br />Delta County, approximately four (4)
<br />miles north of Paonia, CO.The Bowie
<br />No. 1 Mine loadout is located in
<br />Delta County approximately one mile
<br />east of Paonia, CO south of State
<br />Highway 133. The surface facilities,
<br />located north of the North Fork of
<br />the Gunnison River, are located
<br />in portions of Sections 23 and 24,
<br />Township 13 South Range 92 West;
<br />and Section 29, Township 13 South,
<br />Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. The
<br />mine permit area is located on the
<br />U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute
<br />Bowie and Gray Reservoir, Colorado
<br />Quadrangle maps within the following
<br />sections.

<br />West. 6th PM
<br />Sections: 1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
<br />15, 22, 23, 24 and 25
<br />Township 13 South Range 91
<br />West. 6th P.M.
<br />Sections: 5, 6, 7, 8, 17, 18, 19,
<br />- 29, 30, 31, and 32
<br />containing 8,670 acres more or
<br />less.
<br />The Bowie No. 1 Mine permit area
<br />contains 8,670 acres of land, 6,752
<br />acres of private surface and 1,918
<br />acres of Federal surface. Private
<br />minerals within the proposed permit
<br />area encompass 1,433 acres with
<br />Federal minerals accounting for the
<br />balance of 7,237 acres.
<br />A copy of the proposed revision is
<br />available for public inspection at the
<br />-,-Paonia Public Library, 140 Grand ' -
<br />Avenue, Paonia, CO, and at the
<br />offices of the Division of Reclamation,
<br />Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman
<br />St., Room 215, Denver, CO, 80203,
<br />(303) 866-3567. Written comments
<br />regarding this application may
<br />be submitted to and additional
<br />information may be obtained from the
<br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and
<br />Safety at the above address. Written
<br />comments must be received by the
<br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and
<br />Safety within 10 days after the date
<br />of this publication in order to be
<br />considered.
