Talvitie, Marcia
From: Mathews, Dan
Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2008 4:56 PM
To: Talvitie, Marcia
Cc: Brown, Sandy
Subject: Bowie TR-48
Marcia (and Sandy):
I reviewed this TR response a bit out of sequence. I did it before reviewing the New Horizon TR-57, because I knew the
Bowie thing would take less time and less brain strain. I had a scattering of miscellaneous stuff to do today, and wanted to
start TR-57 with a clean slate and give it my full concentration. I'll tackle TR-57 tomorrow.
Anyway, here is my memo regarding Bowie TR-48. Let me know if you have questions. [Responsibility for any lack of
clarity in our original PAR letter for TR-48, Item 6 is mine, since it was worded in the letter exactly as it had been worded in
my original review memo.]
One other thing came to mind as I was reviewing the responses regarding the limited topsoil available for replacement on
the remainder of the waste pile to be reclaimed. Is there material stockpiled or otherwise identified to cover the waste with
a four foot layer (or other approved specified thickness) of non-toxic material? I wasn't specifically assigned that aspect of
the review and didn't go digging for an answer, but I thought I would mention that as something you may want to verify
(probably just ask Joe, if you don't know what the plan is for the remaining waste pile reclamation).
Dan
_ J
5-6-08 Bowie
memo.doc (26 KB)
