This storm water management plan has been prepared in response to the State of
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety's April 10, 2009 letter. A copy is
attached.
The hydrologic study area or staging area is shown on the attached map, T-2, and
photographs. The area has been graded to provide the following in the future:
• Ore bins;
• Loading area;
• Shipping container, C-Can, for storage;
• Shipping container, C-Can, for office;
• Equipment parking area; and
• Detention pond.
The two shipping containers are currently onsite to be used for storage and office
facilities in the future. None of the other items listed above have been constructed or
installed on the staging area. There is very little vegetation remaining on the site.
STUDY AREA
The area calculations are based on a pdf file that showed the proposed area at 1"=50'.
This file was placed into AutoCAD and the scaled areas were computed with the
following results.
Staging Area
The staging area will be bermed around the perimeter to prevent run on from the
surrounding area as can be seen on Map T-2. The berm will divert surface water flows
around the staging area and into the nearby drainage. On the south side of the study area,
flows will be diverted across the access road with a low water crossing. A ramp will be
constructed at the entrance to act as part of the earthen berm around the area.
The entire staging area, including the Ore Bin and Loading area is approximately 33,347
square feet (sq ft).
Ore Bin and Loading Area
This area is approximately 40' wide by 95' long, with an area of 3,800 sq ft. The
attached drawing shows the concrete loading bins and apron and loading area. The area
will be surrounded by an earthen berm and all precipitation that falls within the Ore Bin
