Platte Sand & Gravel, LLC
PO Box 180
Littleton, CO 80160
Via Messenger
Colorado Division of Mining, Reclamation and Safety
1300 Sherman Street Suite 200
Denver CO 80203
Attention: Jared Ebert, Environmental Protection Specialist
March 24, 2009
Re: Technical Revision to DRMS Permit No. M-2000-158
Dear Mr. Ebert:
Platte Sand & Gravel, LLC is the holder of Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Permit No. M-2000-158. Attached to this letter is a proposed Technical Revision to the
reclamation plan, prepared by Civil Resources, LLC in cooperation with Gilcrest Reservoir LC
and Platte Sand & Gravel LLC, for the Platte Sand & Gravel operation permitted under M-2000-
158. It qualifies for treatment as a Technical Revision to an approved permit under the Division
statute (CRS §34-32.5-112(7)) and regulations (Rule 1.9), because it neither increases the
acreage of Affected Lands under the existing permit nor proposes any significant changes the
approved post-mining land use of the Affected Area. It does not have more than a minor effect
on the approved Reclamation Plan. The Technical Revision contemplates changes to the mining
sequence and the method of constructing the water impoundments that will make up the post-
mining land use. The original Technical Revision submission and four copies are enclosed with
this letter, together with the $216 fee specified in CRS §34-32.5-125. Platte Sand & Gravel
approves this submittal on its behalf by Gilcrest Reservoir, LLC.
Please review this in accordance with Mineral Rules and Regulations procedures
applicable to technical revisions, and contact Brad Hagen at Civil Resources, LLC ((303) 833
1416) or Christopher Hayes at the Hayes Law Firm LLC ((303) 860-1800) if you have any
questions or require any additional information.
