In TR-61, BRL is proposing to implement their plan to steepen the outslopes of all but the first bench at coal waste stockpile no. 2. Coal waste stockpile no. 2 is directly north of old state highway 133 and the Fire Mountain Canal. The upper benches' outslopes would be steepened from the current 5H:1 V to 3H:1 V. The geotechnical designs that confirmed the geotechnical stability of the steepened slopes were approved in Technical Revision No. 56. Now, BRL wants to implement the designs. TR-61 was called complete on April 30, 2009. The Division's adequacy review letter is due May 30, 2009. If I could get your adequacy review memo back by May 27, that would be great. Attached is one complete copy of TR-61. I marked several items of the submittal that may be relevant to your review. I also included several items that are currently approved so that you can compare them to the TR-61 material. If you need any other information, please let me know. Thanks for your assistance!
