The
revision was called complete on April 30, 2009. The decision due date is June 29, 2009.
In Technical Revision No. 61, Bowie Resources LLC is proposing to steepen the outslopes of all but the
first bench at coal waste stockpile no. 2. Coal waste stockpile no. 2 is directly north of old state highway
133 and the Fire Mountain Canal. The upper benches' outslopes would be steepened from the current 5
horizontal to 1 vertical to 3 horizontal to 1 vertical. The geotechnical designs that confirmed the stability
of the steepened slopes were approved in Technical Revision No. 56. By steepening the outslopes of the
coal waste stockpile, the operator will be able to place more coal waste at this site.
This revision is available for review at the Paonia Public Library, 140 Grand Avenue, Paonia, CO 81428.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
n
i
f
?\ .Joseoh J.
