In TR-61, BRL is proposing to
implement their plan to steepen the outslopes of all but the first bench at coal waste stockpile no.
2. Coal waste stockpile no. 2 is directly north of old state highway 133 and the Fire Mountain
Canal. The upper benches' outslopes would be steepened from the current 5 horizontal to 1
vertical to 3 horizontal to 1 vertical.
The geotechnical designs that confirmed the geotechnical stability of the steepened slopes were
approved in Technical Revision No. 56, which you have already reviewed. Now, BRL wants to
implement the designs.
TR-61 was called complete on April 30, 2009. The Division's adequacy review letter is due May
30, 2009. If I could get your adequacy review memo back by May 27, that would be great.
Attached is one complete copy of TR-61. If you need any other information, please let me know.
Thanks for your assistance!
Attachments
cc: Sandy Brown (without attachments)
c:/word2007/bowie2/tr61 memo 1
Office of
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
