112 APPLICATION PAGE 23 OF 35 <br />• 6.4.10 EXHIBIT J - Vegetation Information <br />PART I <br />(a) Description of present vegetation types, which include quantitative estimate of cover and height for <br />principal species in each life form represented (i. e., trees, tall shrubs, low shrubs, grasses, forbs) <br />Vegetation on the project site is sparse. Vegetation species on the project site <br />consists of Russian Knapweed, Tamarisk, White Top, Cottonwood, and Russian Olive. <br />Sparse areas of grass and weeds cover the entire site. The southern 1 /3 of the <br />southern mining area has less than 40 mature Cottonwood trees as shown on <br />Exhibit C. The exhibit also shows the area of thick brush currently on the site. The <br />total brush area is less than 5% of the total affected area. <br />(b) the relationship of present vegetation types to soil types, or the information maybe presented on a map. <br />See attached information obtained by from the NRCS in the Exhibit I <br />(c) If range or agriculture post mine use is proposed, provide estimated yields: <br />Range or agriculture uses are not proposed. <br />PART 2 <br />• The operator shall show the relation of the types of vegetation to existing topography on a map in Exhibit C. <br />In providing such information, the operator may wish to contact the soil conservation service. <br />Existing trees and the shrub line are shown on Exhibit C <br />•
