Comment 7 - Note 8 of the 2008 AHR page 5 and future AHRs will reflect flow and field
parameters. Lack of field parameter analysis was an oversite and will be reflected in future
AHRs.
Comment 8 - D2B2 has been added to the page 5 of the 2008 AHR. Due to the sealing of the
Hubbard shaft in 2008, the sealing of the western district and discontinuance of pumping, no
further analytical data will be collected. We expect borehole D2B2 will be sealed in 2009.
Comment 9 - The 2008 AHR has been modified to report both total recoverable and dissolved
iron.
Comment 10 - The parameter alkalinity is listed on the data sheets as "HC03"
Comment 11 - The flow information for site S-1 has been modified in the 2008 AHR.
Comment 12 - The 2008 AHR has been modified to report the additional constituents.
Comment 13 - The 2008 AHR has been modified to report the 2007 H-10 well information to
show that the well was dry in 2007.
Comment 14 - The 2007 AHR information on page 12 describes the damage to Well BC-1 by
parked vehicles and the efforts to correct the problem. Further, the 2008 AHR information
provides (pages 12 - 13) an update for the remediation of the well and water data obtained during
late 2008.
Comment 15 - The 2008 AHR Exhibit 2 contains an additional summary table for D2B and
D2B2 water depth information. The primary purpose of the B-2 and B-3 information is to
analyze the variable stream flows in Bear Creek for the Federal land management agencies and
consider if there is any adverse effects related to mining activities. Leaving the limited B-2, B-3
information in the text section appears appropriate for the intended audience.
Comment 16 - For the ephemeral steams S-1, C-1 and HN-1, the fact that there is no flow in
June is still valuable "data" regarding the general flow characteristics of the drainages. We will
consider the Division's suggestion to collect samples earlier in the quarter.
Please contact me if you have any questions concerning our comments
Sincerely,
k.
??mes A.
