Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division's review found that, with two exceptions, the above-referenced reports
satisfy the reporting requirements for coal waste piles for the time periods noted. The
reports were well-prepared and contained the required information, but the reports need
the following two items added to them.
1. The date each inspection was conducted. You may note these dates in a letter for
these past reports.
2. The results of ongoing density measurement of waste pile lifts ["random test", as
called for in item 3 in Section 2 of the "Waste Bank Design Summary Report" in
Appendix 10(1) of permit application].
A copy of the memo summarizing our review is attached.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me.
Sincerely,

Tom Kaldenbach
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Daniel I.
